  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3 apples medium, peeled and coarsely grated, I used yellow delicious, but will use a more tart variety next time
  • flavorings Extra, see recipe notes
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • confectioner's sugar for dusting
