How to Make Turkish Delight using Agar Agar

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/4 cup agar agar
  • 1 tsp rose water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

To start, line a square baking dish with parchment paper and lightly coat it with oil.

In a saucepan, mix together the water, sugar, cornstarch, and cream of tartar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.

Add in the agar agar and continue to cook for another 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
