  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Instructions

1. Marinate the chicken

In a large bowl, mix together the garam masala, turmeric, ground coriander, ground cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. Add in the chicken pieces and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.

2. Prepare the sauce

In a large pan or skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add in the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garam masala, ground coriander, ground cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

4. Add the crushed tomatoes
