Ingredients:
For the Tea:
3 cups water
3-4 teaspoons black tea leaves
1/4 cup condensed milk
1/4 cup evaporated milk
For the Pulling:
2 containers with handles (traditionally used in Indian Teh Tarik)
To start, bring 3 cups of water to a boil in a pot. Once boiling, add in the black tea leaves and let it steep for 2-3 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger the tea will be.
While the tea is steeping, prepare the pulling process by placing one container on the floor and the other on a higher surface, such as a table or counter. Hold one handle of each container and pour the tea back and forth, making sure to pour from a height to create a frothy texture. Repeat this process for about 5 minutes.
Next, add in the condensed milk and evaporated milk to the tea and continue to pull for another 5 minutes. This will ensure that the milk is well mixed and creates a creamy consistency.
Now, pour the tea into a cup using the same pulling technique. This will create a beautiful swirl on top of the tea. You can also add some additional condensed milk on top for a sweeter taste.
Enjoy your homemade Indian Teh Tarik! You can also experiment with different types of tea, such as chai, to add a unique twist to this traditional recipe. Serve hot and savor the rich and creamy flavors of this delicious beverage.
