1 large tomato, finely chopped
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 cup water

Preparation
To make green masala chicken, start by marinating the chicken. In a blender, add coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, lemon juice, and salt. Blend everything together to make a smooth paste.
Take the chicken pieces in a bowl and add the prepared marinade. Mix well to coat the chicken pieces evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for better results.
Next, heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter, add garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Saute for a minute until they turn golden brown.
Add onions and cook until they turn translucent. Then, add tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
Now, add the marinated chicken to the pan and mix well with the onion-tomato mixture. Cook for 5-6 minutes on medium heat.
Add cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
Pour in water, mix well, and cover the pan. Let it cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat until the chicken is tender and the gravy thickens.
Once done, turn off the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Serve hot with rice or roti and enjoy the delicious and aromatic green masala chicken.
