Add in the cubed butter and use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs. Then, add in the egg and a splash of milk, and mix until a dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.

2. Prepare the mincemeat.

In a separate bowl, mix together all the ingredients for the mincemeat until everything is well combined.

Bake the mince pies in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown. Let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
