Instructions

1. Prepare the marinade

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, Chinese five-spice powder, red pepper flakes, and rice vinegar until well combined.

2. Marinate the meat

Place the chicken or beef in a large ziplock bag and pour in half of the marinade. Seal the bag and massage the marinade into the meat. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight. Reserve the remaining marinade for basting the kebabs later.
