- kosher salt for rubbing into the brisket
- 4 yellow onions chopped
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 1/2 cups ketchup
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic or crushed
- 3/4 cup white vinegar
- 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch + 2-3 tbsp water to form a slurry
