  • 2 tablespoons basil dry, or 3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh mint
  • 2 pounds whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup Italian parsley chopped fresh
  • 2 1/2 cups tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella sliced into 12 slices
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
