Ingredients

• 3 3/4 cups sultanas
• 3 1/8 cups currants
• 15/16 cup dried figs chopped
• 3 1/2 ounces mixed peel
• 5/8 cup cherries glacé, halved
• 2 1/2 cups dried apricots chopped
• 5/8 cup brandy
• 1 cup stem ginger chopped
• 3 tablespoons syrup
• 2 apples grated
• 2 oranges
• 6 large eggs beaten
• 9/16 pound suet shredded
• 2 5/16 cups breadcrumbs fresh white
• 2 15/16 cups muscovado sugar light
• 1 3/8 cups self raising flour
• 1 teaspoon mixed spice
• butter for greasing
